Two Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
